Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: September 25, 2026

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how project cancellations and refund requests are handled for the custom website and software development services provided by Robin Singhal through robindev.in. It should be read together with the Terms & Conditions and your project's quotation/proposal/agreement.

1. Requesting a Cancellation

If you wish to cancel an ongoing project, please notify me in writing (email is preferred) as early as possible, stating the project name and reason for cancellation. I will confirm receipt of your cancellation request and share a summary of work completed to date and the applicable refund position, if any, based on this Policy.

2. General Refund Principle

Because each engagement is custom development work, refund eligibility is not a fixed percentage and instead depends on factors such as:

  • The stage the project has reached at the time of cancellation;
  • The amount of work already completed or in progress;
  • Any milestones already delivered and paid for under the Project Agreement;
  • Third-party costs already incurred on your behalf (see Section 5 below);
  • The specific terms of the applicable quotation/proposal/agreement for your project.

I do not withhold refunds arbitrarily, and I do not offer a "no refunds under any circumstances" policy — every request is assessed fairly against the criteria above.

3. Cancellation Before Work Begins

If a project is cancelled before any development work has started, any advance payment received will generally be refunded, less any non-recoverable third-party costs already incurred on your behalf (such as a domain purchase already made for you).

4. Cancellation After Work Has Started

If work has already started, the refund (if any) will be calculated based on the value of work already completed relative to the total project scope, any milestones already delivered, and time already invested. Amounts corresponding to completed and delivered work are generally non-refundable, while amounts paid in advance for work not yet started or delivered may be eligible for a refund, subject to the criteria in Section 2.

5. Third-Party & Pass-Through Costs

Costs paid to third parties on your behalf or at your direction — including but not limited to domain registration, hosting, premium themes, plugins, third-party APIs, or other software licenses — are generally non-refundable once purchased, as these are governed by the respective third-party provider's own refund policy, and I have no control over them. Where such costs have not yet been incurred at the time of cancellation, they will simply not be charged.

6. Milestone-Based Projects

For projects billed in milestones, payment made for a milestone that has already been completed and delivered/approved is generally non-refundable. Advance payment collected for a future milestone that has not yet started is eligible for a refund upon cancellation, subject to Section 2.

7. How an Approved Refund Is Processed

Once a refund is approved, it will be processed to the original payment method or an alternative method mutually agreed with you.

[CONFIRM REFUND PROCESSING TIME BEFORE PUBLISHING] — the exact number of business days to process an approved refund has not yet been finalized and must be confirmed before this page is published live.

8. Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds are generally not available where:

  • The agreed deliverables for a paid milestone/stage have already been completed and delivered;
  • Third-party costs have already been incurred on your behalf, to the extent of those costs;
  • Cancellation results from the Client's failure to provide required content, access, or approvals within a reasonable time after repeated requests.
